EMF Exposure and Ear Ringing: Key Factors and Practical Solutions

Here is an email I recently received:

EMF [electro-magnetic field] causes buzzing in my ears and numbness is some nerves in toes. I use a land line phone and ethernet cable for internet in order to help. What smoothies and juice recipes can you suggest that might help?

My response:

Buzzing in the ears is commonly referred to as tinnitus.

Tinnitus is the perception of sound when no external sound is present, and it can manifest as ringing, buzzing, hissing, or other noises.

Research studies indicate that individuals with electromagnetic hypersensitivity (EHS) experience tinnitus more frequently than the general population. However, the same scientific research has not established a direct link between tinnitus and exposure to electromagnetic fields. If you are particularly health-conscious and concerned about EMF exposure (as many of you likely are), you may be at a higher risk of developing tinnitus. I realized I needed to discuss this matter with my subscribers.

Several years ago, we saw great anxiety among health-conscious people about 5G—fifth generation—EMF. And it’s still there. 5G networks rely on EMF to transmit data wirelessly.

The concern is primarily with the non-ionizing radiation emitted by 5G infrastructure, antennas, and the 5G devices themselves. Since 5G uses higher-frequency waves than previous generations, some worry about the potential health effects of greater EMF exposure.

I can only share my own experience. Several years ago, while researching EMF and its potential health impacts, I began noticing a perplexing buzz in my ears. It was unpleasant, to say the least, yet I felt healthy overall. I concluded that EMF was the culprit. The more concerned I became, the more frequently I heard the buzz.  Medical advice could offer no help because, at present, there’s no cure for tinnitus.

I remember my steps were similar to what my correspondent did: using wired internet connections instead of wireless. Getting special stickers for my phone and computers that claim to neutralize EMF radiation. Keeping electronic devices away from my bed. And even wearing a shungite neckless, hoping shungite would absorb and neutralize EMF radiation due to its unique carbon structure. Nothing seemed to work. Then, other life events drew my attention away. I got immersed in some exciting projects and... I had completely forgotten about my tinnitus.

The ringing in my ears just stopped as suddenly as it had appeared. I didn’t know why until I came across an interesting book, called Rock Steady: Healing Vertigo or Tinnitus with Neuroplasticity, by Joey Remenyi.

The book’s premise is that your body is a miraculous complex of processes that should be allowed to make noises. It is in fact entirely normal for your body to make noises. So, changing your attitude toward these sounds and retraining your neural networks is the way to go. You can learn how to weaken the connections between neurons that fire messages resulting in your symptoms. You do this by not worrying about them or prioritizing them. In other words, don't put your energy into feeding the problem!

What was most interesting to me in this book is the idea that you can develop tinnitus simply by focusing on some real or imagined negative influences on your body—just like people who are “sensitive” to EMF. If you are one of them, check out Joey Remenyi's  Rock Steady book. You might find it helpful.

2. Food That Help Ward Off EMF Effects

The following foods boost the immune system and combat oxidative stress, helping the body resist and recover from radiation exposure:

Cruciferous Vegetables: Broccoli, kale, and Brussels sprouts are rich in antioxidants that protect cells.

Berries: Blueberries and strawberries are packed with antioxidants that help repair cell damage.

Seaweed: Kelp and nori, like other types of seaweed, are rich in iodine. When the body has sufficient iodine, it can help block the absorption of radioactive iodine by the thyroid gland.

Garlic and Onions: These support detoxification and boost the immune system.

Leafy Greens: Spinach and Swiss chard provide essential vitamins and minerals that support cell repair. These foods support your body’s natural defense against radiation.

While the steps I've mentioned may reduce EMF effects, it's important to note that EMFs are everywhere in modern life, from power lines to household appliances, and completely eliminating exposure is virtually impossible.

Do the best you can—eat raw, take care of your body. You can even get an EMF canopy for your bed, if you like. Personally, I wouldn’t go for the canopy: I don’t want to be reminded of EMF every bedtime.

In my book The Quantum Key: Transcending Life's Trials,

I write about how "on one Internet forum, a man was sharing his nightmare—the endless illnesses he’s developed because he’s become highly sensitive to electromagnetic frequencies. I hate wireless, he wrote. What he’s really saying is: He fears wireless. Could it be that his 'hating' contributes to, even attracts, the very sickness he’s experiencing?"

I also write about the survival spirit of a group of older women who, after the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in 1986, refused to relocate and continued living in the heavily contaminated zone for 30 years. Maintaining a healthy attitude toward what we cannot change is vital for living in our world.

Discover the most effective treatment for maintaining a smooth, wrinkle-free décolleté area: cupping massage. I started using it on my upper chest area at 55 and I've been using it regularly ever since. It works!
